Last Phase of...Construction

Image
We have now been in the house for just over a year, so we thought it would be a good time to have the parking area done...before the snow flies.  Because, the snow better fly this winter!!  Our excavator came to level the area and pull back the hard-pack gravel we have been driving on.  I know that he does an excellent job because our cement guy sings his praises.   Anyway, on Monday, they set the forms and started assembling the rebar grid.  On Tuesday, they finished the rebar for the first pour of cement and then the cement truck arrived.  The first pour was the "apron" sections which bridge the main parking area to the garages and to the front porch.  Today, they poured the first half of the main parking area and set the rebar for the second half.  Once the second half is poured the clock starts; about one week before we can drive on it.
