Monthly-ish Update

Progress continues here in Absarokee.  The changes are much less dramatic than they were when contractors were buzzing in and out all week but we're settling in and figuring things out.

The tiler came to do the last bit of tiling; a "backsplash" in the kitchen and pantry.  She finished the grouting on Friday.

The plumber had come back a couple weeks ago to put in a (guest) bathroom fixture piece that had been sent incorrectly (the one they sent didn't go with what we had).  With that last step complete, I was able to get in and scrub the guest bathrooms and get them set up.

I have reached the phase of unpacking where I need to start organizing stuff that needs to be stored (seasonal decorations, canning supplies, memorabilia, etc.).  The first step was to build some shelves.  Fortunately, we brought many shelf units from the basement in Vermont so I have been assembling those.  I have several more but five are done so far.

As I was driving out of the subdivision one day this week, I looked back toward the house and saw a sliver of a rainbow.  It has been a cloudy week here so the colors were a real treat.

Today I attended another new church in my search for a new church "home".  This one is located in Red Lodge, about 30 miles southeast of us.  It is a generally scenic ride with winding roads and rolling hills.  However, today there was little to see as I drove through the clouds and watched the rain in Absarokee turn to snow as I climbed in elevation.  I guess it's time to put the sandals away, dig out the socks, and buy a new set of snow tires.

The last three pictures are of a recently completed knitting project.  I finished it while we had our company from Germany but I couldn't find all the parts for my mannequin.  Now that I have done so much unpacking, I finally found the rest of the pieces and could take proper finished-project-photos.  Now I'm working on a poncho, but based on the weather this morning, I better knit faster!
