Monday

While Jörg is out of town, I am using this opportunity to spend the day on the construction site.  Lots of things are happening and resolving questions is just easier when they can just ask me rather than text or call.  Today was a wild day.

The builder and crew were working outside; staining (some of the lumber was installed raw) and working on the siding (now that the tongue-in-groove has been installed, they can finish the siding all the way up).

The cabinet guy arrived with two trailers of cabinetry and a crew to help haul it in, unbox it, and sort it by location and then placement.

An electrician came in the afternoon to finish up some wiring and installing the last outlets inside.

And the tiler was scheduled to come back this evening to finish some grouting.

I'll go back tomorrow and see what excitement awaits.  Just in case there is no excitement, I take my knitting and a book.

The flooring has arrived (last week) and is now acclimatizing before it is installed (in a couple of weeks).

The drop-in vanities have been unboxed.  They will be placed once the grouting is done.

The fireplace stonework is almost done.  Work was paused to finish the tongue-in-groove and siding work...and to stay out of the way of the cabinet crew.

The cabinets got unboxed.

Activity inside and out, front yard and back.  It was loud and busy.

Our hard work in its proper place.

The master closet installation has started.  It's almost done.

I needed a workbench on which I could assemble the utility sink.  I had to settle for the generator in its slightly weathered box.

The pile of cabinets grew and grew before it was all unpacked and sorted.

And just like that...

I can't wait to see the laundry room with all the cabinets.

It was a stormy day today.  Thunder rolled through in the afternoon and brought with it some heavy rain, but it didn't last long.

I found a spot in the corner where I could sit and not be in people's way.  It was noisy and dusty, and it's hard to believe that this will be clean enough to live in. :)
