Today is Patrick's last day of fly fishing camp. He says that it's been a good camp and that he's learned some things, and he has enjoyed being in camp with his friend, Trevor.
Tomatoes, potatoes, basil, scallions, cabbage, Mediterranean cucumbers, garlic scapes, spinach, green leaf lettuce, salad mix, and green bell pepper. WOW!
With the temperatures in the high 90s every little bit of shade and coolness is welcome. The cloud doesn't stay around long, but it was a welcome relief.
When we left for vacation, two weeks ago, the garden was struggling to get started. Cool weather, lots of rain, and almost no sun was taking its toll on the garden's progress. We arrived home late last night so I couldn't see the garden, but this morning I find that it had grown...ALOT! I guess I have some weeding and harvesting to do once I get the unpacking and laundry done. :) sent from my Project 365 app http://bit.ly/5G0JwQ
This morning, after breakfast and a walking tour around Old Faithful and the geyser basin, we decided to go to Prismatic Spring, the second most visited site in Yellowstone. We had not planned to go since we were there two years ago, but changed our mind. And we were not disappointed! With a cloudless sky, the colors were vibrant and gorgeous. We missed these colors two years ago because the days we were here were overcast. No picture I can take with a camera will take the place of seeing it in person.
Grandpa cleaned Patrick's fish and it now awaits its garnish and place of honor on Patrick's dinner plate. It was about 16" long and weighed roughly 2#, but we don't know for sure because Dad doesn't have measuring tools and Patrick left his at home (I told him he couldn't take EVERYTHING along.) Patrick is very excited.
This morning, we have a beautiful view of Livingston and the snow-capped mountains. Check out the panorama! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZtlCFTIW2g&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Tomorrow we leave for Montana. This picture was taken the last time we were there; two summers ago. Patrick could totally be a rock, or a country star.
